Premium NHL Picks: December 23rd

Vancouver Canucks @ Columbus Blue Jackets
2nd meeting between the teams this season. Canucks had won the first game last Wednesday in Vancouver. It was a pretty tight game which Canucks won 3-2. After losing to the Canucks, Jackets first lost in Edmonton and then lost in Dallas but they bounced with a 3-1 win over the Flames on home ice. Canucks played three games and lost one of them which was last night's game in Detroit. Despite scoring 2 powerplay goals on 3 attempts, Canucks lost the game 5-4. I will side with the Canucks in this one. Blue Jackets lost 4 of their last 5 games and they are also 1-5 SU in last 6 games against the Canucks.

Premium NHL Picks: December 22nd
We have two premium picks today:
Tampa Bay Lightning @ NY Islanders
Injuries and more injuries. This has been the story of the New York Islanders so far this season. Rick DiPietro, Trent Hunter, Matt Martin, Mottau, Okposo, Streit and Dough Weight are all out while the Islanders have won only 2 of their last 23 games.
Islanders, 6-18-6 will try to win for the seventh time this season when they meet the Tampa Bay Lightning at Nassau Coliseum tonight which is the third meeting between the clubs this season.
In previous meetings, each team beat the other once. Islanders won in Florida while the Bolts beat the Islanders 4-2 in New York.->Read more »
