Philadelphia Flyers @ Chicago Blackhawks
I never thought the Flyers could make it this far but apparently the coach change early this season worked out for them and Laviolette's team despite struggling with several injuries made it to the NHL Stanley Cup finals 2009/2010. These two teams have not won the title in decades and one team will make their city proud after a maximum of 7 games.
Flyers were amazing against the Montreal Canadiens who had eliminated the Washington Capitals and last season's winners, Pittsburgh Penguins.
Blackhawks were against the elite team of the Western Conference, San Jose Sharks and just like we expected Sharks were a huge disappointment once again after having an almost perfect regular season. Dustin Byfuglien who started playing as a forward with the start of the playoffs, have been one of the best players in the playoffs. He has scored game winning goals against the Sharks and helped his team reach the finals.
When these teams met at the United Center, it was December 2008 and Blackhawks had won that game 5-1. In the single matchup in regular season, Flyers won 3-2.
Both teams are pretty healthy with Flyers stronger than before in playoffs as Jeff Carter returned to the ice after missing most of the playoffs. He scored a goal against the Canadiens too.
Hawks won all of their last 5 games at United Center and I am expecting them to continue this trend with a clear victory tonight.
