We all remember how Montreal Canadiens turned it around and knocked out the defending champions Pittsburgh Penguins in 7 games. They have a big mountain to climb again. This time they are without a goal in first 120 minutes of the series. Philadelphia Flyers who finished the regular season at 7th place in Eastern Conference has been impressive in playoffs despite a long list of injuries.
Having played perfect in their first two games against the Canadiens, Flyers will look to make it 3-0 and come closer to their ultimate target, the Stanley Cup final. They won the first match 6-0 at Wachovia Center. Canadiens looked strong in the opening period of the second match but they couldn't beat a top form Leighton. Leighton made 30 saves in the second match to help the Flyers win it 3-0 and make it 2-0 in the series.
Andrei Markov is out 6 months after the injury and Canadiens are also still without defender Paul Mara. They are 2-4 in last 6 games at home against the Flyers.
In regular season, these clubs met at Belle Center twice and they split victories, with the first one going Canadiens way 3-1 and the second one won by the Flyers, 6-2
I am counting on Montreal's ability to rebound from bad losses. They did it well against the Penguins and I don't see why they wouldn't do it tonight against the Flyers. I will take Habs in this one.
