Philadelphia Flyers @ Boston Bruins
Who would have thought? Bruins had a comfortable 3-0 lead in this series and Flyers had no morale at all. However, Laviolette's team fought back and tied the series at 3-3 with a win at the Wachovia Center on Wednesday.
The first two games at TD Garden were also close games with the Bruins winning both of them by one goal. Bruins had also struggled on home ice in regular season. We thought it was mostly because of injuries to players like Marc Savard but they really played bad last Monday when they Flyers shut them out at TD Garden with a score of 4-0. Boston Bruins had only 23 shots on goal and that was probably their worst game in playoffs.
The momentum looks to be on Flyers' side but it doesn't change the fact that they also have serious problems. Playing without Ray Emery, Laperriere and Jeff Carter was tough enough and goaltender Boucher had a serious knee injury and he was replaced by Leighton who hadn't played for a while. Leighton was very good in that match stopping 30 shots but he still will suffer from condition issues.
Considering the momentum Flyers have right now and obvious advantages like home ice the Bruins have. I think the injury problems Flyers are having at the moment make the Bruins my favorites tonight. Savard, Lucic, Wheeler, Chara, Rask have everything to play for tonight. Take Bruins!
