First three games of the series were close but they all ended well for the Sharks and then the Red Wings had to respond and they did respond in style. Johan Franzen had an incredible first period and he scored 4 goals to help the Wings beat the Sharks 7-1. It was only one defeat for the Sharks as they still have the advantage in series with 3-1.
After leaving the Joe Louis Arena with a 3-1 defeat, Sharks are returning to HP Pavillion where they beat the Wings twice in this series.
Red Wings had difficulties with penalties in this series. 27 penalties in 4 games gave Sharks all the time they wanted with man advantage. You don't want to let Sharks have powerplay time as they have a great assister like Joe Thornton and finishers like Dany Heatley and Patrick Marleau.
In the last match, Nabokov played probably his worst game in playoffs. He allowed 4 goals on only 10 shots and later on he was replaced by Greiss.
Sharks are 27-6-8 on home ice this season and they are also 9-1 in last 10 games at the HP Pavillion. Detroit had beaten the Sharks twice in regular season in San Jose.
This may be the elimination match for the Red Wings. They have no other option than winning tonight. Such games usually are high scoring games so I will be going with OVER 5,5 GOALS in this one.
