Anaheim Ducks @ Calgary Flames

Flames are four points behind the 8th placed Detroit Red Wings and 6 points behind the 7th placed Colorado Avalanche. Ducks won two games in a row to keep their play off hopes alive. They are at 11th place and with 76 points, they have a mountain to climb. Flames looked good in their last home game against the Sharks. They were edged by the Wild on Sunday, 4-3 final score, but they should get back on track at the Pengrowth Saddledome tonight. Ducks will be without Wisniewski who is suspended and Lupul who is out indefinitely. Glencross, Higgins, Langkow and Mayers are all listed as day to day for the Flames. Flames should win this one at home. They had beaten the Ducks last month at the PS and I can see them winning this one tonight.

Boston Bruins @ Atlanta Thrashers

What an interesting game! Bruins at 8th place in the East will face the 9th placed Thrashers who has won four games in a row. Thrashers beat the Flyers in their last game on road and they had beaten the Sabres, Senators and the Flyers in a row at the Philips Arena last week. Bruins are coming off a victory over the Rangers on home ice. They were able to beat the Carolina Hurricanes but lost in New Jersey and Montreal on road before that one. This will be their second visit to the Philips Arena and they have beaten the Thrashers three times in three games this season. Bruins are 9-1 against the Thrashers in last 10 matchups. They are going to be without Savard again but I am expecting them to win this one and protect their 8th place in the standings.

Columbus Blue Jackets @ New Jersey Devils

Devils are comfortable at 88 points and 4th place in the standings. Jackets don't really have many goals left for the season and they are just playing to win hockey games. They have won three of their last five games and three victories came on home ice. They suffered an overtime defeat in Nashville in their most recent game on Saturday. Devils are coming into this with only two victories in last five games. It's about time Devils win some hockey games. They have two games in hand and if they win those two games they will be back at number 1 in Atlantic Division. They were shut out by the Blues on Saturday at the Prudential Center. That was a rare game for the explosive offense of the Devils. They are 100% healthy and before the Blues defeat, they had beaten Penguins and Bruins on home ice. They can surely beat the Jackets in this first and only meeting between the clubs this season.
