PITTSBURGH PENGUINS @ NJ DEVILS:
In less than a week, Penguins will visit the NJ Devils at the Prudential Center for another hockey game. Devils won the last one last Friday with a score of 3-1. Devils had also won the previous four games against the Pens this season. This is going to be the 6th meeting between them and another chance for the Penguins to beat the Devils once.
Penguins are however going to be without their star player Evgeny Malkin tonight. Malkin picked up an injury in game against the Lightning and he is not expected to play tonight.
That's the only injury concern for the Penguins while for the Devils, Paul Martin is expected to be back on ice after a long term injury.
New Jersey Devils are 23-9-1 at home this season and they didn't lose in regulation in last five games at the Prudential Center. When they played there the last time, they beat the Boston Bruins 3-2. It was the third win in last five games for the Devils.
Other than the Bruins and Penguins, they also beat the New York Rangers last Wednesday at the Prudential Center. They have been very strong on home ice as of late. They allowed only 6 goals in 3 games and scored 12.
Penguins lost two of the last three road games. They were pretty good in the beggining period of the Carolina game but the Canes came back to win it 4-3 in the end. Then they lost in New Jersey as the Devils blanked them on 5 powerplay attempts.
Without Malkin, it will be a tougher task to beat the Devils tonight.Devils will wear some vintage jerseys tonight so they are expecting to play an entertaining game. It would be a perfect night for them if they can keep their 100% record against the defending Stanley Cup Champions.
I will go with UNDER selection, considering the good defensive performance of the Devils, the absence of Malkin as an offensive power for the Penguins and the nature of games between these teams as of late.
