Detroit Red Wings @ Calgary Flames:

After a 4 game winning streak, the Flames lost last night in Vancover, as the Canucks had a brilliant start to the match. Sedins were storming again and Canucks scored 3 unanswered goals in first 20 minutes which left the Flames with a tough task. They could score only 1 goal later on but it was the end of their winning streak.

Wings are coming to this game also with four wins in last five games. They won again on Saturday when they beat the Sabres 3-2 despite blowing a 2-0 lead.

Red Wings, as they have gotten healthier, have started to play much better and they will just make the playoffs if they continue like this. They have been excellent on penalty kills thanks to good defenders. Brian Rafalski also contributed with a few goals in recent games including the victory against the Buffalo Sabres. There is a lot of difference between Wings without Rafalski and when he is playing.

Flames won their latest game at the Pengrowth Saddledome when they took on the Ottawa Senators last Thursday. It was a good shutout victory for the home side. They were as good as the Senators on the powerplays, stopping them five times. They are still one of the worst offensive teams in the league but they have some great goaltending, thanks to Mikka Kiprusoff. Flames have allowed only 10 goals in last 5 games.

This will be the fourth game between these teams and Red Wings won only one of the last three. This will be the second one in Calgary. Wings had won the first match in Calgary back in October with a 3-1 score.

Both teams are pretty good in defense and the Flames have been struggling on the offense all season long. Kiprusoff and Howard are expected as goaltenders for their teams tonight.Howard has a 2.35 GAA and Kiprusoff is at 3rd place in the league with a 2.22 GAA. Considering the offensive struggles of the Flames, good goaltending for both sides and the low scoring games between them, it is best to go with UNDER.
