It's funny how the Sharks lost their latest game. They had been winning games after late come backs at the HP Pavillion but it was upside down yesterday. Sharks had a 2-0 lead in first period but then the Florida Panthers came back from behind and beat the Sharks in their own come-back game.
It was the second time Sharks lost a hockey game in last five games. The first one was against the Devils, once again at the HP Pavillion. They are playing better on road.
Sharks are 21-8-2 on road this season and 10-2 in their last 12 road games. They are also 7-3 in their last 10 games with the Ducks. This will be the 6th game of the season between the clubs and the Sharks are 5-0 against the Ducks as they have won all of them.
Ducks kept on struggling on powerplays when they lost another home game against the Predators on Friday. 1-0 loss was the fifth in a row and they were blanked on the powerplay again. Ducks have not scored a powerplay goal on last 9 attempts. Their penalty kill has also been very poor, allowing opponents score 4 powerplay goals in last 2 games. They will have to solve the special teams problems if they want to beat the Sharks tonight. Sharks are third on the powerplay in the league at 22.9% and they have a great pair on powerplays, Joe Thornton and Dany Heatley. Marleau is also having the best season of his career.
Considering that they have allowed 18 goals in their last 5 games, Ducks will have a tough time stopping the second highest scoring team in the league.
