Depleted Colorado Avalanche will visit the Anaheim Ducks who have not been healthier this season except for Joffrey Lupul. Avalanche are without Cumiskey, Milan Hejduk, David Jones, Dave Koci, Ryan Stoa and Brandon Yip.
Brandon Yip was explosive in January and he showed up at critical moments to help Avalanche win hockey games. He was the latest addition to the injury list as he got injured in the last game agaist the Red Wings. Avs lost the game 2-3 in the end despite some good effort to come back from an early 2-0 Detroit lead. Penalty killing was not good this time and the Wings scored 2 goals on 4 opportunities.
That was the second time they lost a game against the Detroit Red Wings this season and tonight they will face the Ducks for the second time. In the first game, Ducks dominated the game in Colorado and outshot the Avalanche 43-17 and won the game 4-2. This is a good chance for the Avalanche to tie the season series and beat the Ducks at Honda Center but it is not the right time. Any team in the NHL have injured players but it takes time to adjust to line changes.
Ducks have been extremely good against the Avalanche in recent seasons. In the last 5 games Ducks have won every one of them. They also have a five game winning streak on home ice.
This looks like another Ducks win...
