Premium NHL Pick: Mar 3 #1

We have two picks today. Here is the first one.

Edmonton Oilers @ Chicago Blackhawks:

Hawks suffered a huge loss at the hands of the Islanders last night. It also ended their winning streak. Byfuglien scored a goal late in third to cut the lead to 5-3 but it was a little too late for them.

Oilers also played last night and they also lost but it is no different from what they have been doing all season. Oilers still have a long list of injured players. Ales Hemsky, Khabibulin, Souray, Stone, Simid are all out and they won't return anytime soon. That's one reason they have gone 1-12 in their last 13 road games and also 3-19 in last 22 games.

This is going to be the fourth game between these clubs as the Hawks had won all three of the previous meetings.

The good thing for the Oilers is that, despite the losing streaks, they have been showing some life signs in recent games. Even last night in Nashville, they were able to tie the game more than once but the Predators  just edged them 4-3 in the end. Oilers were blanked on the powerplays and they were 50% on the penalty kill, which has been a big problem for them. Remembering the last game before the break against the Ducks, it was probably the worst game they played in a long time, as the Ducks scored 4 powerplay goals to win the game 7-3.They have to find a solution to the special teams problems.

The odds for Hawks win is really low, probably the lowest ever seen in a NHL game in years. We will go with the OVER 5,5 Goals bet as both teams have been sloppy in defense as of late. Oilers have the worst defencein the entire league while the Hawks are third highest scoring team. They are off a loss so they will be motivated tonight. Oilers have nothing to lose so they will surely not sit back. Expect several goals in this one.
