Hawks players showed good performance at the Olympics and now they are back to NHL action. Hawks will try to make it five consecutive wins when they meet the Islanders for the first time this season.
Hawks made it four wins in a row when they beat the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Atlanta Thrashers in two night with same scores. Both games ended 5-4 in favour of the Chicago team. The fact that they won both games is surely a positive thing for the Hawks but they don't have the best defense in the league after allowing 14 goals in their last 3 games.
Islanders played some good games this season but they are a young team and that sometimes comes with inconsistency. They have been alternating wins and losses in their recent games, going 2-3 in last 5. They are 9-17-6 on road this season and they are one of the worst road teams (0-5 in last 5) but their home record is over 0.500, 16-12-2.
I am expecting a very entertaining game with the majority of the players freshened during the break. Islanders need to win this type of difficult home games if they want to see the playoffs. They are 6 points behind the 8th place Montreal Canadiens with a game in hand. I believe they will play very offensive tonight and try to outscore the 3rd highest team in the NHL.We should see plenty of goals.
