After a long losing streak, Boston Bruins are recovering. It had been mainly due to injuries if you ask me. Bruins never had a healthy squad during that skid and as they are pretty much healthy right now, they started to play better and it shows in results.
Bruins will try to make it 4 wins in a row tonight when they take on the struggling Panthers. Florida Panthers continued to lose back to back games on Thursday when they were beaten by the Canucks 3-0. Panthers have had serious scoring problems as they have only 4 goals in last 5 games. Their powerplay has been blanked in last three games and only one powerplay goals in last 5 games (1 for 25)
Panthers are 1-1 against the Boston Bruins this season as each teams won a game on other's ice. Bruins beat the Panthers 2-1 back in December at the BankAtlantic Center, after the Panthers had a 1-0 victory before that in Boston.
Milan Lucic and Miroslav Satan, along with Thornton are all listed as day to day. Two of these players had food poisoning. Panthers are still without Olesz and Nathan Horton. Two forwards combined have 59 points for this team. That pretty much explains scoring problems.
Boston Bruins played their best hockey against the Tampa Bay Lightning and they were successful in holding off the Lightning who had an amazing come back effort. (Bruins had a 5-0 lead but the game ended 5-4)
Bruins are the hot team in this matchup and Panthers with two key player injuries don't look like they can beat the red hot Bruins.
