Premium NHL Picks: Feb 10 #1

We have two premium NHL picks today,

NY Islanders @ Pittsburgh Penguins:

The Islanders have impressed me this season. Not only with great players like Tavares and Okposo but also with their abilities in penalty shoot outs. They are one of the few teams that are good on shoot outs and they proved it again in their latest game against Predators on Tuesday. They came back from a two goal deficit and tied the game with 12 seconds remaining in the third period and then won it in shoot outs.

That was the first time New York Islanders won a game in 8 matches. And that was the end of a seven game losing streak. Now they will try to improve on their road record against a team they lost two of three times this season.

Penguins are coming off a two game losing streak. They first lost the game in Montreal and then after a very entertaining game, dropped another one versus the Washington Capitals. Capitals were down by three but Alex Ovechkin found a way to get his team back in the game and win it in overtime.

Pens have been allowing way too many goals in their recent games. They allowed 14 goals in last 3 games. It wasn't very different when they beat the Islanders last month with a score of 6-4.

Both teams have struggled on killing penalties as of late. They both have allowed at least one powerplay goal in each of  their last three games. That will be a big problem especially for the Islanders tonight. New York allows the second most power play goals in the league with 0.9 per game and Pittsburgh has the third most power play chances in the league at 4.1 per game.

Pens should win this one tonight. However the odds are very low for Pens victory therefore it would be wise to go with OVER 5,5 Goals option.
