New Jersey Devils @ NY Rangers :

Rangers will try to elude another home loss against a team they have lost only 20 days ago. Devils shut out the Rangers at the MSG and beat them 1-0 on January 12th.

Devils are usually a team that you see fewer goals against than any other team in the NHL. This is mainly because of their goaltender Martin Brodeur who kept breaking records this season.

However, it has not been the case in their recent matches. Devils have allowed a total of 15 goals in last 5 games. That's more than their 2.3GAA which ranks at number in the league.

Rangers kept on losing games when they lost to the red hot Washington  Capitals on Thursday evening. Caps trailed from a 5-3 score but won the game 6-5 with great effort in the final period of the game. Rangers were excellent on the powerplay as they scored 4 powerplay goals on 6 attempts but their penalty killing was not really good and because of that Caps won the game. Outshot their opponents in their last 2 home games, Rangers lost both of them. Carolina outscored them 5-1 in a game Rangers outshot the Canes 38 to 24. It's usually about Marian Gaborik's performance which changes the outcome of Rangers' matches.

Devils came back from 3-1 to beat the Leafs 4-3 on Friday evening. They were beaten by the same Toronto team on Tuesday. They have only 2 wins in last 5 so they are pretty much as desperate as the Rangers.

The total goals bet opened at 5.0 at Bodog.com and the odds of OVER 5 Goals is 1.83. That's quite valuable considering the fact that both teams have not been doing good on defensive parts of the game. Rangers will do everything they can do win this time and the Devils are no different. They are 2-1 against the Rangers this season and they won both games at the MSG before this one. Chicago Blackhawks @ St Louis Blues

This is the fourth time these teams meet this season. Hawks are 2-1 against the Blues. Blues won the last one at the United Center with a 3-2 score. Blues came from behind and beat the Hawks 3-2 despite getting outshot by the Hawks 34-19.

That loss against the Blues was the second of a three game losing streak for the Blackhawks as the Hawks were shocked by another home ice loss last night when they were beaten by the Coyotes. Hawks had a superb start to the game and they were all over the Coyotes in the first 20 minutes. But they were able to score only one goal and they failed on every powerplay chance they had early in game. It helped Coyotes to take command in the second period of the game and the Coyotes were able to tie it and take it into the overtime and finally beat the Hawks 2-1.

Hawks' powerplay struggled in the last 10 days. They couldn't score a powerplay goal on 11 attempts in the last 4 games. They have to find a way of taking advantage of man advantages or they will probably lose more games. Their defense has not been as good this month either. They outshot their opponents in all three games which got them nothing but zero points.

Blues are one of the best road teams in this league. We have had successful picks for their road games here and we don't tend to back them up when they play on home ice. They have gone 4-12 in last 16 home games and that's the worst in the entire league. They seem to find a way to beat opponent on road bu their home performance is terrible. They already lost a game to the Blackhawks at the Scottrade Center this season and expect another one tonight! Hawks not only lost three games in a row, they are a better team than the Blues and I never expect much from the Blues when they play at home.

San Jose Sharks @ Nashville Predators:

Sharks and Predators face each other for the third time this season and first two games ending with the game score and both teams won one of them. Sharks beat the Predators at the HP Pavillion in San Jose while the Predators were on top in Nashville.

Sharks beat the Blues on Thursday night after losing their second home loss against the Detroit Red Wings in San Jose on Tuesday night. They have won three of their last five, scoring 19 goals and allowing 14 goals in this span. Their defensive problems continued against the Blackhawks and the Detroit Red Wings on home ice as both teams scored 4 against the Sharks.

Predators beat the Avalanche 5-3 on Thursday night as their powerplay rocked with 3 goals on 5 powerplays. They were blanked in four games before that one on man advantage situations. They finally found a way to work it out. They were shut out by the Phoenix Coyotes on Tuesday night. It's not a big surprise as the Coyotes were excellent defensively in their latest games.

Sharks are once again a good team on road, just like last season. They are 18-6-2 this season and they won both of two games they played on road in last 10. This will be a good test for them as the Predators are a decent team when they play at the Sommet Center. I can see the Sharks winning this one.
