We have two picks today,

Washington Capitals @ Boston Bruins:

Caps with 10 wins in a row are visiting the Boston Bruins who are winless in last 5. Bruins lost the first game of the season against the Caps at TD Garden early this season. They are coming off another home loss against the Kings on Saturday. They had back to back losses on road against Carolina and the Buffalo Sabres before that. Bruins have been able to score only 7 goals in their last 5 games and they have allowed 15 goals in this span.

Caps are hot and they have been outscoring their opponents by far until their last match against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Caps had scored 20 goald and had allowed only 6 goals before that game but they almost blew a 2-0 lead as the Lightning were able to come back in the last period and tie the game at 2-2. Caps scored the last goal of the game and they made it 10 wins in a row. They will try to keep this going as they meet the worst Boston Bruins of the season.Bruins have big scoring problems. This team turned into the lowest scoring team in the league at 2.34 goals per game. They had been dealing with injuries but today they are pretty much a healthy team while defenseman Mark Stuart remains sidelined.

Bruins will start with Tim Thomas while the Capitals will have Theodore between the pipes.

Can the Washington Capitals continue their impressive winning streak? I really think they can do it. Bruins have not been playing anything like the team from last season. Tim Thomas has not been very good either. He is down to number 15 in the league in GAA at 2.50 per game.

Red hot Capitals team are leaing the Eastern Conference with 80 points, 8 points better than the trailing Devils. They surely can improve their away record against this lowly Bruins team tonight.

New Jersey Devils @ Toronto Maple Leafs

Toronto was at the center of trades this week. They have acquired Phaneuff, Sjostrom and Aulie from Flames and then acquired Jean Sebastien Giguere from Anaheim Ducks. So this will be interesting to see how Phaneuff and Giguere play at this team. We will see both on the ice tonight.

Devils will give Brodeur some resting time as Danis will be between the pipes tonight. They are coming off a home defeat at the hands of LA Kings. It was another match the Devils had a two goal lead ruined late in the game. They had done the same thing against the Toronto Maple Leafs last Friday but they had survived that time thanks to an overtime goal by Zajac. The second time, Kings didn't let the Devils survive.

Canucks came back from 3-0 deficit against the Leafs on Saturday night and beat them 5-3 at the Air Canada Centre. It was the 6th loss in a row for the Leafs in the last 10 days. They will play the Devils once again on Friday at the Prudential Center.

Looking at their recent games, Leafs have had some high scoring games, both on home ice and on road. At the Air Canada Centre they are desperate for a win, and especially a win against this Devils team who handed them a defeat only a few days ago. With new players, they will certainly play different and it will be interesting to see how these new players make a difference.

Either way, I am expecting to see a high scoring game tonight.
