It is going as bad as could ever go for the teams of Alberta this year. Both of the Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers are losing back to back games. Oilers are now without a win in last 11 games and they have only 1 wins in last 19. That's coming after a 5 game winning streak back in December.

Blues are coming off a loss against the Canucks last night. They didn't play their best hockey but they were able to stop the Canucks for most of the game thanks to another good performance by the goaltender Conklin. However the Canucks had some lucky goals in the third period and that let them score a powerplay goal and defend the lead until the end.

Blues are one of the best road teams in this league and they have gone 14-8-4 on road this season. Their home record is 9-14-4. They beat the Calgary Flames on Monday night with a 3-0 scoreline.It was one of their best games this season.

Edmonton has given up the second most goals in the league at 3.5 per game. It is why they can't find a way to win hockey games. The main reason of course is the absence of key players. They have been dealing with injuries all season long. They have been without Hemsky, Comrie, Brule, Khabibulin, Staios, Stone and none of these are expected to return tonight.

Blues defender Colaiacovo has been out with a lower body injury but he may be able to return soon. DJ King is still out indefinitely.

Edmonton Oilers will surely be desperate for a win tonight but the Blues play pretty good on road and despite playing their second game in as many nights, I am expecting them to win this one.
