Buffalo Sabres @ Vancouver Canucks:
Buffalo Sabres keep on playing on road. They have lost four of their last five games and this will be the final game of their long road trip. Sabres will try to tighten their defense and stop conceding too many goals. They have allowed 14 goals in their last 3 games despite having two good goaltenders. Ryan Miller couldn't even stop the defensive problems as the Sabres were beaten by the hottest team in the West, San Jose Sharks, with a score of 5-2 on Saturday. Sabres outshot their opponents 40-24 but a huge mistake early in the second period costed highly. I think that was the turning point of the game.
It's very interesting to see that Sabres have been outshooting their opponents in almost every game but they have won only one of them. 178 shots on goal in the last five games but only one win over the Coyotes last Monday. Maybe they have another lucky Monday today. You never know. They surely have to potential to beat any team in this league.
Canucks couldn't have asked for more. They have been excellent on home ice and they reached their best in their latest game against the Chicago Blackhawks at the General Motor Place. Roberto Luongo was amazing in goal stopping 43 shots. Canucks' superb twins Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin was on fire once again as both of the players scored a goal and had another great night on home ice. 5-1 victory only a week after the impressive 6-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins once again proved how dangerous this team will be in the play offs.
We will see Ryan Miller between the pipes for the Buffalo Sabres as Roberto Luongo is expected to make another start.Expect good performance from two great goaltenders.
As the Sabres have allowed 14 goals in their last 3 games I am sure coach Lindy Ruff has been working on their defensive problems. I can only expect the Sabres to play more conservatively tonight. They can not make the same mistakes they have been making for the last three games, if they are to have any chance against this red hot Canucks team.
This game can go either way. Canucks have been excellent but Sabres are a very good team. I will go with UNDER 5,5 Goals as I count on both goaltenders and the probable defensive measures that Lindy Ruff will take after three consecutive losses.
PREMIUM NHL PICK: UNDER 5,5 GOALS
