Pittsburgh Penguins @ Buffalo Sabres
Second time this season, these two teams meet at the same place. Sabres will try to win this time against the defending champions at the HSBC Arena. Penguins had won the first game of the season against the Buffalo Sabres 10 days ago. Penguins had only 24 shots on goal in that game but Sabres special teams couldn't score a goal on eight powerplay attempts which costed them highly.
Sabres are coming off a 5-3 victory over the St Louis Blues. Blues had been playing really well but they failed to beat the Sabres and their penalty killers. Sabres killed off five of five penalties against the Blues and a shorthanded goal helped them win the game 5-3. Lalime was very good in the absence of Ryan Miller. Buffalo Sabres is a lucky team with two good goaltenders. Everyone knows how good Miller is but backup goalie Lalime has been doing the job too.
Penguins suffered a very disappointing home defeat at the hands of Toronto Maple Leafs. They failed in every aspect of the game that night. They were outshot, outscored by the Leafs. That came after an impressive victory against the Senators last week.
Penguins will start with Fleury again as Ryan Miller is expected to return tonight for the Buffalo Sabres. Derek Roy who got injured in Ottawa game will miss this game too. He is not the only one sidelined for the Sabres. Patrick Kaleta will also miss this game. That's a lot of damage to Sabres offense. They will have to do a better job in defense to stop the Penguins and they can not miss eight powerplay opportunities again if they want to win this game. Penguins will be desperate for a win tonight. They were very frustrated against the Maple Leafs. Playing the Sabres team without Derek Roy and Kaleta might help them.
Penguins have a great chance to win this game but I won't go with a side selection. I depend on Fleury and Miller tonight and considering that Buffalo will be without their points leader Derek Roy.
