Only about 24 hours ago, these teams played and the Hawks won the game 4-1. Now they are going to Chicago to meet once again at the United Center.
Blackhawks have been playing great and they have won four of their last five games. They are 13-2 at home in their last 15 home games and in total they are 16-4-1 at the United Center. They have beaten Boston Bruins, Detroit Red Wings on home ice this month. They only lost against the Sharks. It only got better when they shut out the Red Wings in Detroit after the 3-0 win on home ice. That's how good the Hawks have been playing this month. The only exception was being the game against the Sharks.
Byfuglien, Kane, Sharp, Toews have all been playing well and especially Byfuglien has been excellent against the Predators this season. Including a goal last night in Nashville, he has scored three goals against them in five games. Hawks won three of those five games while the Predators won one at home and one at the United Center early this month. They are one of the few teams to beat the Blackhawks this season at the United Center.
Kris Versteeg is a doubt for tonight's game and Hawks are still without Bolland and Burish. It is a great chance for the Chicago Blackhawks to beat the Predators again and make it an 8 point gap between these teams. They are tied with the Sharks right now at 53 points but another win tonight will ensure they are the best team in the Western Conference.
Predators and Hawks are both good teams but it is apparent that the Hawks have been playing much better than the Predators. We saw it last night too. At the United Center, even if they play without Versteeg, they have a great chance to be the number 1 team in the West and even the NHL.
Hawks play agressive on home ice and they can enjoy powerplays tonight as they play the third worst penalty killing team in the NHL.
