Second pick of the day:

Tampa Bay Lightning @ Detroit Red Wings:

It is the sixth game the Bolts will try to snap their losing streak. They have lost five games in a row with the last one coming in Nashville. Despite taking the lead two times in Nashville, they couldn't stop Predators from scoring back to back goals in the second period and they lost the game 7-4 in the end.

Red Wings have been winning games in a row. They overcame Bryzgalov and the red hot Phoenix Coyotes on Monday at the Joe Louis Arena. They won three games in a row with same scores, 3-2. First victory came in Anaheim, with another victory following in Nashville and the final one against the Coyotes at the Joe.

Not easy to play with some many injuries. Red Wings are still without long time injuries, Flippula, Franzen, Cleary, Williams and Lilja along with defensemen Kronwall and Ericsson.

They have been pretty good against the Lightning in previous season, going 8-0-1 in the last games at the Joe Louis Arena. They don't play that often tho. This is the only game of the season between these teams and the last time they met was last season in Tampa Bay with the Red Wings winning it 4-3.

Tampa Bay are Paul Ranger. Konopka and Steve Downie are day to day.

Tampa Bay's penalty killing has been superb unlike the terrible winning ratio. They lost five games in a row but they allowed only one goal in the last five games. That's pretty amazing and somewhat strange.

Wings have been terrible on powerplays. They converted only three times in the last 27 powerplays. That's way below the league average and they rank at 19th place in the league. They may have a better chance tonight as the Lightning are actually 27th on powerplays when they play on road.

Even with the injuries, Red Wings still have enough firepower to win hockey games. They have been doing just that in their most recent games. Lightning are 4-9-5 on road and they dropped all of their last six games on road. Red Wings should win this one in regulation.
