Atlanta Thrashers @ New York Rangers:

Winning only 1 game out of 7 on home ice is not helping the NY Rangers. Their latest defeat at the MSG came at the hands of the Buffalo Sabres.

After beating the Sabres only 2 weeks ago at the HSBC Arena, they suffered a home loss against them. 3-2 score was not what the fans expected to see. They had 38 shots on goal but they failed to beat Ryan Miller enough times to get something out of that game. Their penalty killing against a team that is good on powerplay was excellent and they scored 2 goals on powerplays but it was not that good when teams played even strength.

They are depending too much on Marian Gaborik's offense and the likes of Chris Drury, Sean Avery and Callahan has not been helping him enough to win games. The absence of a creative forward like Brandon Dubinsky is also another problem.

They have a great goaltender like Lundqvist and they allowed only 9 goals in last 4 games but the offense is struggling at 6 goals in that span.

Thrashers coming off a home victory against the Montreal Canadiens had dropped three games before Saturday's victory. Thrashers are 9-5-1 on road but they lost three road games in a row. Their offense has also been below average except the game against the Canadiens. They had scored only 7 goals in 4 games before that one. Against a team like NY Rangers who allowed only 2 powerplay goals in the last five games, it will be tough for the Thrashers to take advantage of powerplays which they have been finding tough to score anyway. Thrashers had only three powerplay goals in their last 20 attempts.

Rangers may have lost three games in a row but it is a good chance for them to take on a team that has been losing on road.
