Calgary Flames have been very good on road this season. Beating the Colorado Avalanche is another story. They have been struggling against the Avs for a long time. Avalanche are 8-3-2 on home ice this season but they struggled as of late. They lost against the Minnesota Wild on Wednesday when they were shut out. They were almost shut out once again on Friday when they faced the Tampa Bay Lightning but they managed to tie the game late and win it 2-1
Flames are not letting their opponents score easily against them. We have to give credit the goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff for that. He stopped 44 shots against the Minnesota Wild on Friday despite not being able to avoid the 2-1 loss.They have allowed only 8 goals in their last 5 games.
Colorado Avalanche are going to be without Milan Hejduk tonight and David Jones, Ruslan Salei and Kyle Cumiskey are already out indefinitely.
Avs struggle without Hedjuk as the creative forward is a very important part of this team. They have got young talents Duchene, O'Reilly, and the likes of Stastny and Wolski but they have not been scoring many goals lately. They have scored only 10 goals in their last 5 games and allowed only 8.
Colorado Avalanche will start with Craig Anderson tonight while the Flames will give Kiprusoff another go. Kiprusoff is 2.15 GAA this seaoson and ranks at 6th in the NHL. Anderson has 2.59 GAA as he ranks at 11th in Save Percentage but he has made 839 saves that is number 1 in the NHL.
