Now the Sabres know they can depend on their backup goaltender Lalime after he stopped 39 shots when they beat the Chicago Blackhawks at the HSBC Arena. Sabres won two games in a row after losing to the Rangers and the Devils on home ice.
Rangers are not playing as they used to play early this season and they have won only once in their last five matches. The single victory was against the Buffalo Sabres last weekend. Ryan Miller had stopped 30 shots but the Rangers were able to score twice to beat the Sabres. Sabres had a lot of pressure in third period but Henrik Lundqvist was sharp.
Tonight we will see these teams play against each other once again in 7 days and this time they will play at the Madison Square Garden. Rangers are 5-2 SU against their opponents at the MSG. They won one of the two games last season at the MSG.
I like both goaltenders and Sabres have been better this season defensively. They have allowed only 8 goals in their last 5 so it is not only about Ryan Miller. The defense is also improving. They will have to play more defensive tonight if they are to stop Rangers offense, especially their top scorer NHL leading scorer Gaborik.
Miller and Lundqvist are two of the best goaltenders in this league and analyzing latest games of these teams, I am expecting a low scoring game at the MSG.
