Things have changed for the Carolina Hurricanes since the home loss against the Capitals 12 days ago. They won back to back games against top teams in the NHL. They first beat the Canucks on home ice and then claimed their first road victory in Pittsburgh.
Now they will try to make it 1-1 in season series against the Capitals.
Capitals are not used to being shut out but that was the case at the HSBC Arena. Buffalo Sabres and Ryan Miller stopped the hot Capitals team that had won eight games in a row. 3-0 loss was nothing the Caps fans expected to see.
They will try to get back to winning against a team they have beaten six times in the last nine matchups.
Caps may have Mike Knuble back on ice tonight as the forward was out with a broken finger. They will start with Theodore in goal while the Canes will have Cam Ward as their goaltender.
I always like to watch Capitals playing offense. Backstrom, Ovechkin, Green, Semin. These players are all high scoring players. Backstrom is leading the team with 33 points.
Canes are going the right way as they have been playing much better lately. But facing this Capitals team that was shut out in their last match might not help them. Caps will be hungry for goals. Canes should also score a few goals and this match should go OVER.
