Fourth pick of the day
NEW YORK RANGERS @ CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS
Rangers are heading to the United Center as they take on the Blackhawks. Both teams have been alternating losses and wins. Rangers lost four of their last five while the Hawks dropped three of their last five.
Hawks are always doing the unexpected. They go and beat the best of the NHL, Sharks in San Jose with an amazing score of 7-2 then they start losing back to back games. They have lost in Anaheim and then LA . They scored only two goals in two matches. Then they went back to United Center and edged the Columbus Blue Jackets in shootout. They were demolished by the Predators on road but they came out strong against the Crosby-less Penguins and beat them 2-1 in overtime thanks to a goal by Versteeg.
They have got a lot of potential and many people expect them to reach the Stanley Cup Finals this season but they are very inconsistent.
Rangers were good against the Sabres last Saturday but they couldn't build on it against the Red Wings at the MSG. They were disappointed by a Wings goal late in third and lost the game 3-1.
Goaltender Lundqvist have been playing very well, he stopped 36 shots in Buffalo and stopped 28 shots of 30 against the Red Wings.
I am expecting him to keep his form tonight. And the Hawks did not look very good offensively in their recent games. It is also interesting to see Marian Gaborik without a goal in the last three games. Rangers don't find it easy to win games when Gaborik is not producing. They are also still without Dubinsky and Brashear is day to day. Hawks are also without forwards Bolland and Adam Burish.
Some stats:
The total has gone UNDER in 4 of Chicago's last 5 games when playing NY Rangers. The total has gone UNDER in 4 of the NY Rangers last 6 games when playing on the road against Chicago. The total has gone UNDER in 13 of the NY Rangers last 18 games on the road.
I am expecting a low scoring game tonight and I trust Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist to keep his good form.
PREMIUM NHL PICK: UNDER 5,5 GOALS
