Devils have won three in a row and Brodeur kept on breaking records. Shutout against the Buffalo Sabres not only made the Devils fans happy, it also helped Brodeur get closer to the shutout record in the NHL.
Now they are taking on the Hurricanes who have stormed in their last two games. First victory came on home ice against the Canucks. Then came the most impressive victory of the season for them. They beat the defending champions Penguins at the Mellon Arena. They were outshot by the Pens especially in third period but they found a way to get away with a 3-2 victory. They killed off 11 penalties in a row in their most recent games. Goaltender Legace stopped 30 shots in Pittsburgh. He won't start tonight. We will see Cam Ward return.
Devils are feeling good despite the injuries. They are still without forwards Clarksson and Zubrus, defenders Martin and Mottau but they keep winning games. They were excellent in Buffalo as they shut out the Sabres 3-0 and also outshot them 37-22.
Canes surprised us by winning their last two games but it won't be easy for them to maintain this trend at the Prudential Center.
Devils are the best defensive team in the NHL at 2.2 goals against per game. They have got one of the best goaltenders in the NHL and they are on a winning streak as they have been playing solid hockey.
Take Devils to finish off Canes in regulation.
