Detroit Red Wings @ NY Rangers:

Struggling with injuries the Red Wings are trying to climb up the standings and it has not been easy. They don't have a problem taking shots on goal but they have big problems scoring on these chances. Last night we saw them coming back from 2-0 and 3-1 against the Devils to tie the game in third but eventually losing it in shoot outs.

Wings played solid hockey in third period and they tied the game thanks to a goal by Eaves. They came hard in the third period and after tying the game at 3-3 they had a powerplay but it was Martin Brodeur who didn't let the Wings take the lead. Brodeur also stopped the Red Wings with only 26 seconds remaining. Brodeur did not let Zetterberg put the puck in from inches away from the goal line. He made the difference between these teams like he always does.

I liked the way Wings responded in the last period and goals by Draper and Eaves show that this team can score goals even with a long list of injuries.

They lost the game in shoot out but it was positive to come back twice from two goal deficits and get at least a point from that game.

Now they will face the Rangers who they have been very dominant against in recent seasons. Wings are 10-1 SU in their last 11 games against the Rangers and are also 6-1 SU in their last 7 games when playing on the road against NY Rangers.

Rangers were against the red hot Sabres last night at the HSBC Arena and they took the lead in first period when Higgins scored. It was assisted by this team's leader Gaborik. Gaborik did not score this time but he was as dangerous as always.

Buffalo played extremely well in third period and threw everyting on Lunqvist but King Henrik was able to stop every one of them. Lundqvist stopped Sabres in third and finally Callahan scored and made it 2-0. Sabres scored late in the period but it was a little too late for them.

Rangers with that victory snapped a losing streak and they did it without a goal from Marian Gaborik who is said to be the only one scoring goals for the Rangers . They are now returning home and they will try to make it two wins in as many nights.

It is expected that Howard will return to Detroit goal tonight and Lundqvist will remain between the posts for the Rangers.

I am expecting Wings to keep what they did in third period last night and after losing a game in shoot out, they can win this time against a team they have won 90% of the time in the last 9 seasons.
