We have only one premium pick for tonight. We were considering another pick but the odds are not very attractive. Therefore we have decided to pass.
Vancouver Canucks @ New Jersey Devils:
Devils have won three games in a row with the most recent one coming against the New York Islanders on Saturday. They have not played for three days. Islanders took an early lead that day but Devils fought back and destroyed their opponents with a 6-1 score. 42 shots on goal was the highest this season for the Devils and Martin Brodeur only allowed one goal by the Islanders. That's been the story for the Devils for the last three games as they have limited their opponents to one goal. When you don't let your opponent score, eventually you win hockey games.
Canucks lost at home to the San Jose Sharks despite the fact that they had an early lead in the first period. They played pretty good in the 1st but then it was all Sharks in the rest of the game. Sharks scored back to back goals late in third and that was it for the Canucks. That was their only 4th regulation loss on home ice this season in 14 games.
This is the first game of the season between these teams. They played only once last season with Devils beating the Canucks in Vancouver.
Penalty killing has been the key for Devils recent success as the team have killed 7 in a row. M.Brodeur has been a huge part in it.I am looking forward to seeing how they perform against the Canucks who leads the league in power play goals with 1.0 per game.
Devils have the momentum. They have been playing very well on home ice and Martin Brodeur keeps breaking individual records. They can make it four wins in a row tonight. However the injuries for the Devils are not a good sign. Forwards Clarksson, Zubrus and Niedermayer, Pandolfo are all out and Langenbrunner is a doubt.
Luongo and Brodeur are the starting goalies tonight.
Some stats:
The total has gone UNDER in 11 of New Jersey's last 16 games.
New Jersey is the toughest team to score on in the league, allowing just 2.1 goals per game
We lost with our lates Devils pick but that game was 2-1 with only 10 minutes to the end of the game. I don't expect such a high scoring game this one with two good goaltenders.
PREMIUM NHL PICK : UNDER 5 GOALS
Best odds: 2.05 @ Bet365
good luck!
