Second premium pick of the night:

SAN JOSE SHARKS @ VANCOUVER CANUCKS:

These teams are meeting for the first time this season. San Jose Sharks recovered from home ice thrashing by the Blackhawks on Wednesday. They beat the Edmonton Oilers on Friday and they took yesterday off. They should be well rested for this game against a hot team like the Canucks.

Canucks started very good last night against the depleted Edmonton Oilers team and took a 4-0 lead in only about 10 minutes in first period. It looked like it was all over until the Oilers started to attack Canucks with so much energy. Oilers scored two goals in second period and cut the lead in half but the Canucks did not let them get back into the game.

4 powerplay goals by the Canucks helped them beat the Oilers who also scored two goals on powerplays. Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin were playing like they always do and they didn't look like they didn't spend much time on ice this season( due to Daniel's injury. )

Ryan Kessler who has been the hottest player of the Canucks this season had three assists last night and Mason Raymond scored one goal and assisted on two more.

Canucks have won won four games out of the last five and last night's victory was the second win in a row. They lost only to Chicago Blackhawks last Sunday. 30 shots by the Canucks was stopped by Niemi.

Last night's game showed how good this team can play even strength and on powerplays. The third powerplay goal was showing the good team chemistry. Four players were involved in that goal with quick passes.

Sharks are also good on powerplays, they are actually third in the league. Their penalty kill is the best in the NHL. It will be interesting to see how they perform tonight. Both teams good on powerplays and Sharks being the number one penalty killing team in the NHL. I expect a physical and tense game and we will probably see the teams going on powerplays quite often. Luongo did not look sharp last night. It might have been due to early 4-0 lead but he struggled all night.

Sharks have been playing high scoring games lately too. 39 goals in last five games in total. That makes almost 8 goals per game.

Sedin brothers, Kessler, Danny Heatley, Thornton are likely to get their names on the scoresheet tonight. Considering the latest games of both of these teams, I am going with OVER for this game.

Some stats:

The total has gone OVER in 5 of San Jose's last 6 games

San Jose is 7-1 SU in its last 8 games when playing Vancouver

PREMIUM NHL PICK: OVER 5,5 GOALS

1.95 @ Interwetten

good luck!
