After such a terrible day yesterday we look at today's first game as our first premium pick.

New York Islanders @ New Jersey Devils:

Devils are returning home after grabbing an impressive win in Boston. Devils All Star goaltender Martin Brodeur who keeps breaking records stopped 32 shots and 2 in shoot outs to win the game for his team.

Devils however are suffering from injuries. Their latest injury is David Clarksson who took a Zdeno Chara shot in the ankle last night. He is not likely to play today. They also have other injuries as forwards Niedermayer, Pandolfo and Zubrus are all out.

Islanders couldn't have done better as they beat the defending champions Pittsburgh Penguins last night. They have won 2 games in last five and last night it was Tavares's day as the young player as he scored the game winning goal in third period.

Islanders are still without their number 1 goaltender Rick DiPietro but the player is closer to his return. He has been practicing with the team and will probably be sent to AHL for conditioning. With this year's offensively better Islanders team they could use DiPietro's goaltending to win more hockey games.

Forwards Doug Weight and Jeremy Reich are also out for the Islanders.

I believe Biron is going to start tonight against the Devils and Martin Brodeur is expected to continue playing for more records to break.

With so many forwards injured on both sides and considering that these teams played tough games last night it will be hard for them to hit the ice and start shooting the puck. They will feel some fatigue and the creativity on both sides will suffer as the likes of Clarksson, Zubrus, Niedermayer for the Devils and Dough Weight and Reich for the Islanders are all out.

Some supportive stats:

New Jersey is the toughest team to score on in the league, allowing just 2.2 goals per game.
The total has gone UNDER in 6 of New Jersey's last 7 games at home

PREMIUM NHL PICK: UNDER 5 GOALS

2.13 @ Gamebookers

good luck!
