It is partly due to the absence of important forwards, Johan Franzen, Valtteri Filppula. Jason Williams also will not be available tonight. They are also going to be without Kronwall. This is going to give them problems in the defense too.They have already been without defender Lilja so it is now two key defenders on the injury list.

Fortunately for them two players have been playing extremely well. Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk. Datsyuk and Zetterberg scored in Montreal on penalty shootouts. Both players also have been scoring goals in regulation. They have dropped two games in a row, the most unexpected one coming at the Joe Louis Arena on Friday. They dominated the Panthers but failed to score the second goal and the Panthers who equalized late in third, won the game in overtime.

Nashville Predators may be the lowest scoring team in the NHL but it looks likely to change soon. They have been dynamite lately. Won five games at home in a row with the latest one coming against another red hot team, Columbus Blue Jackets. Predators had 48 shots on goal and had 8 powerplay chances, most of them coming in the third period, had to win the game in shoot out. Jason Arnott and goalie Rinne has been hot for them. Rinne is now 9-1-0 and won five straight in the last five games. He was also good on shoot out against the Jackets.

Last season in Nashville, we saw Detroit getting demolished. 8-0 was the final score and it was a match never to forget for the Nashville Predators fans.
