Finally the Carolina Hurricanes are winning some hockey games even if it has to be a comeback or an overtime victory. A win is a win and they are building on that to get back their confidence. They are still without Staal but Tim Gleason was amazing on Thursday when he scored two goals and set up the late equalizer.
Everytime a team has trouble winning hockey games they need someone like Gleason to play extraordinarily well. And he did just that against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Tampa Bay Lightning who beat the Canes 5-2 in Tampa last month, have not been bad lately.They have gone 8-4-7 this season and they managed to get at least one point in the last seven games.
Malone, Stamkos and LeCavalier are the key players for the Lightning and we have seen Stamkos and Malone scoring goals in the last seven games. Tampa will be without defenseman Ohlund but it is much worse for the Canes, as they have a long injury list. Cam Ward, backup goaltender Leighton and Eric Staal are all out.
We have seen a desperate Carolina Hurricanes all month long. They managed to snap their winless streak of 14 games but they still need to win more hockey games. They play with that in mind and due to goaltender problems they will find it difficult to stop the likes of Stamkos and Malone tonight.
Expect another high scoring hockey game in Carolina tonight.
