Unlucky streak continued last night as Sens couldn't complete a comeback and then the Blue Jackets ruined a 4-1 lead to lose the game 6-4. We can't look behind. We have two picks tonight.

Pittsburgh Penguins vs Florida Panthers:

Two different performing teams will face at the Mellon Arena. Penguins will be without Sergei Gonchar just like a period in the last season. They replace him with veteran defender Skoula. He is a very good player and I am sure he will do just fine tonight.

Florida has only one injured player and that is Nick Tarnasky

Some Stats:

Florida is 1-5 SU in its last 6 games, Pittsburgh is 8-1 SU in its last 9 games at home.

Pittsburgh has allowed the third fewest goals in the league at 2.1 per game.

Pittbsurgh Penguins won their latest game against the St Louis Blues with an impressive score 5-1. Florida lost at HSBC Center to the Buffalo Sabres and they didn't look good at all.

Despite Gonchar's injury, I believe Skoula will be able to replace him tonight and I don't see any reason the Penguins shouldn't win this one.

PREMIUM PICK: PITTSBURGH PENGUINS TO WIN [Moneyline]

Colorado Avalanche vs Carolina Hurricanes

What a start for the Avs. They have gone 6-1-2 in 9 games and we have seen the potential in their youngest players along with defender Quincey who has 8 points. He did score against the Wild in their latest game despite the loss.

They will try to bounce back from that defeat in Minnesota and what is better than facing a team with four losses in a row. Carolina Hurricanes dropped all of their last four games with the final one at the hands of an Islanders team who had had no wins until then.

Avs will give Craig Anderson a night off and Budaj will start for the first time this season. He is also a quality goaltender. He had 2.86 GAA last season.

Some Stats:

Colorado is 4-1 SU in its last 5 games, Carolina is 0-5 SU in its last 5 games on the road, Colorado leads the league on the power play at 28.6%.

Dominance at home

Colorado is 11-1-1 SU in its last 13  games when playing Carolina. In other words they have been dominant over the Canes at the Pepsi Center. The last time the Hurricanes franchise won in Denver was on Feb. 9, 1996.

Tonight shouldn't be any different. We have a great performing Colorado Team against a lowly Carolina Hurricanes team.
