Nashville Predators is one of the most balanced teams in the playoffs in my opinion. Their defense is solid and the attack is getting the job done.
There were much to talk about the first game but everyone talked about Weber's hit (not really a hit...) on Zetterberg just before the final horn. Personally I thought it was a disgusting behaviour. You're leading 3-2 and it's the last second of the match and all of a sudden you stop being an NHL player but decide to choose another career by ramming Zetterberg's head into the end boards. I don't know why the NHL let Weber go with just a fine. It really deserved a suspension.
Nevertheless, this will probably take the intensity level of tonight's game to a higher level. Expect Zetterberg to react but it could also backfire at Red Wings. We will only have to wait and see.
I won't be basing my prediction purely on this incident. This is still a playoff game and the Preds have the advantage of a 1-0 lead and they have the home-ice advantage which they would love to extend and take it to Detroit.
From the game I watched, I really didn't think Wings had enough firepower to score more goals in the opening game. Sure they had their chances and goaltender Rinne was pretty good but I am expecting a similar game tonight. Predators defense do the job and Gaustad was winning faceoffs against Datsyuk (60% win in faceoffs against a guy like Datsyuk is remarkable)
Go with the Predators tonight.
