Premium NHL Picks: December 16th

LA Kings @ St Louis Blues

After beating the Red Wings with an impressive score of 5-0, Kings are visiting the Blues at Scottrade Center where they are 9-2-2

Kings may not have the best away record, 6-8-0 but they have been pretty good in their latest games. They had back to back victories against the Wings and they also beat the Flames and the Florida Panthers.

Kings have allowed only 8 goals in their last 5 games and they have allowed only 2 goals on opponent powerplays. Defense is doing its job for them.

Blues are still dealing with several injuries. Not only TJ Oshie and David Perron, McDonald is also sidelined and this shows in their results. They dropped two in a row and one of them on home ice against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Despite Blues' 6-2 record over Kings on home ice in last eight games, I can see the Kings continue their good run tonight and beat the Blues who have been struggling with injuries.

San Jose Sharks @ Dallas Stars

I believe Sharks are a better team than the Stars, however they have not able to show it on ice against the Stars in last two seasons. Stars are 4-1 SU against the Sharks in last 5 games and they have also been excellent on home ice this season, suffering only one loss in last 10 home games. They have also beaten the Sharks twice already this season, one in Dallas and one at HP Pavillion.

Stars beat the Sharks on Monday night in San Jose. They have only two wins in last five games but all those three losses were on road. 

Sharks are 2-3 in their last 5 matches, losing to Nashville Predators in last night's game. They were outshot and outscored by the Predators in a competitive 3-2 game.

I like Stars in this one. They have been good against the Sharks in last two years and they are also very good on home ice this season.
