What a start to the NHL playoffs last night. A fantastic come-back by the Flyers, superb defense by Predators and then the King beating Canucks in Vancouver. We couldn't have had a better start to the playoffs as a spectator. 

Tonight, we are back in business with a free pick. You might be wondering why we didn't publish any picks during the regular season and waited until the playoffs. That's a long story but we will go into it at a later time.

Let's take a look at tonight's pick.

Bruins will host the Capitals tonight at the TD Garden. Caps had won both games in regular season at the TD Garden as they went 3-1 against the Bruin in regular season series. However, regular season is regular season and playoffs are played at a completely different level.

Before you go crazy wondering what the pick is. I will go with the Bruins tonight despite their two losses against the Capitals. Bruins had a poor start to the season in October but recovered afterwards going 23-3-1 before losing their form later only to hold off the Senators.

Alexander Ovechkin didn't have his greatest season but he was impressive in the last 13 games of the regular season scoring 10 goals. Capitals still had Perreault, Semin and Chimera who had a great regular season.

Both of the teams are coming into this game with two wins in a row. It was perhaps the most impressive win for the Capitals when they beat the Rangers at MSG crushing their chances for the Presidents' Trophy. The fact is that the Caps has not really been consistent but neither has the Bruins. Two inconsistent teams and two teams with injury problems, the only thing that looks like an advantage to me is that the Bruins will be in front of their own fans tonight and it's playoff fans. I'm here to pick a winner from two inconsistent teams.

And the goaltenders. Bruins have all the experience you can have in a playoff match. Tim Thomas will be in goal. And the Capitals will have Holtby who will be playing his first ever playoff game!

- Not so great "Alexander...the"

It's going to be an entertaining game to watch and I really see the Bruins taking the lead in the series tonight.
